And now for some random updates...
ITEM 1:
Sunset Lavaflies got another 5 star review! This time the review came from the Great Minds Think Aloud Book Club, which is an awesome resource for writers, editors, publishers, and readers to mix and mingle. I already thought it was a great site before they reviewed my book. Now, of course, I love the site even more! :-)
ITEM 2:
Now that I'm working on a novel rather than a short story, I'm going to install a word counter on my blog. I got the idea from Angeline Kace, and I think it's a good idea for two reasons. One, it puts pressure on me to keep the counter moving, and two, it lets my followers know how much progress I'm making on my book. So watch for that to appear later this week.
ITEM 3:
Next week I'll be at the beach. I plan on doing lots of writing, but not much if any, tweeting, blogging, or Facebooking. Hopefully I won't come back to find my followers have all abandoned me. :-)
ITEM 4:
I was blog tagged by Lisa of Flash Fiction. If you haven't discovered her site yet or if you're curious about flash fiction, you should definitely check her site out. She's able to tell stories in 30 words that would take other writers pages and pages to tell. The thing I really like about her writing, though, is that it always has an emotional impact on me. I go to her site just to bathe in her ability to make words dance across the screen and do whatever she wants them to do. Seriously. Check her out.
As part of the blog tagging experience, I need to answer some questions, then blog tag some other bloggers. So here we go:
If you could go back in time and relive one moment, what would it be?
The birth of my son. Thanks for the easy first question!
If you could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be?
I'm going to cheat here. My philosophy has always been that no matter how bad something may have seemed at the time, if it hadn't happened exactly as it did, I wouldn't have followed the same path to where I am today. And I really like where I am today. And even if I didn't like where I am today, I might hit that point where I like where I am tomorrow, or the next day. So...no changes.
What movie/TV character do you most resemble in personality?
Any of the guys in any John Hughes movie (well, except for the bullies).
If you could push one person off a cliff and get away with it, who would it be?
I'll just use Lisa's answer for my own, since I agree with her: I'm not sure I have it in me to actually do such a thing, but I'd be willing to try with any proven child molester.
Name one habit you want to change in yourself.
I'd love to be able to avoid temptations that distract me from the things I really want to be doing. I've gotten better about this with some things, but others are still a struggle.
Describe yourself in one word.
Optimistic
Describe the person who named you in this meme in one word.
Incredibly-talented (The hyphen makes that a single word, really.)
Why do you blog? (In one sentence):
I love writing, so blogging is just another way for me to indulge in something I love.
And the people I'm blog tagging are:
Rebecca Treadway
Brandy Hoskins
Chris Hobson
Rachel Giesel
